Home alterations and remodelling

Sometimes the answer isn't a big extension but a better use of the space you have: moving walls, opening up rooms, rethinking the back of the house.

The brief

Pamela McCormick, ARB-registered architect, designs alterations and internal remodelling that improve light, flow and how a home works day to day.

Home alterations and remodelling

Internal reconfiguration, new openings, rear and side alterations, and remodelling alongside an extension. Pamela looks at the whole house before suggesting changes, so the result feels like it was always meant to be that way.

Home building and renovations

Renovation projects need a clear design and the right drawings before the builders start. We design renovation and alteration work and prepare the drawings your builder and the planners need. We're designers, not builders: you appoint your own contractor.

Questions

Do internal alterations need planning permission?

Many internal changes don't, but some alterations do, and listed buildings always need extra care. We'll check what applies to your home.

Can you work to a budget?

Yes. We talk about the budget at the start, and design options to suit it.

Client feedback

What clients say

“We've been going round in circles for literally years on how to make the rear of our house work for us in terms of natural light, use of space and connection to the garden. Pam came out to consult and within an hour had offered up solutions no one had previously even thought of and super practical solutions at that in terms of cost and feasibility.”

Pete J. · Google review

“Pam was so professional from start to finish. She spent time with us figuring out what it was that we needed for a large scale project in our new home, even though we were unsure as to what was achievable within our budget.”
