P A Designs were established in September 2011. We are a female-led practice and pride ourselves on honesty, trust and high standards.
Our aim is to make 'Architects' more accessible to the public, therefore we welcome projects that are rejected by other practices because of their size. A Draftsman or a Technician offering Architectural Services are not Architects, so don't be tempted! We work with trusted and highly skilled professionals to ensure every project can be designed and managed with the necessary knowledge and resource.
We set ourselves the highest of standards to ensure our Clients receive an exceptional service every time.
We are a small Practice but have big connections. Our pool of resources ensures we can provide the same level of service as the larger practices with projects in our portfolio exceeding £5million. Where we surpass our competitors is with our fees. A smaller practice inevitably means fewer overheads so we pass this saving on to you. The success of every project is just as important to us as it is to our Clients. With award winning schemes throughout our employment history, P A Designs strive for the outstanding.
Pamela McCormick, Architect and Director of P A Designs My path to becoming an Architect began at Northumbria University in 2001 where I studied Architectural Design and Management. Here I gained a BA(Hons) and RIBA Part 1 before having a year in an Architect's Practice as a requirement of the 7 year course to become fully qualified.
RIBA Part 2 and 3 were gained at Leeds Metropolitan University where I gained a Degree in Architectural Studies followed by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Architectural Professional Practice.
I've been registered with ARB (Architects Registration Board) and the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) since 2008.
The name "architect" is a protected title. "ARB's register is the only statutory register of architects in the UK. Every architect whose name appears on the register has met the standards set by ARB for education, experience and practice, and has the legal right to use the title "architect"." http://www.architects-register.org.uk/architect/075134K "Membership of the RIBA is recognised the world over as a symbol of professional excellence.
The Royal Institute of British Architects champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and our members. We provide standards, training, support and recognition that put our members- in the UK and overseas- at the peak of their profession." http://www.architecture.com
